Best Herbs
for Women's Health
Sherrill Sellman
Interviews Kosa Ely
Kosa, how did you
get interested in Amazonian Rainforest herbs
and what benefits have you experienced?
I have a dear friend who is both a
Chiropractor and a Healer, and soon after he
found out about these Amazon herbs he shared
them with me. Although I believed in herbs,
and had used Chinese and Ayur-vedic herbs
for years, I had not achieved satisfactory
results. When my friend said there was
something really special about these
Rainforest herbs, I decided to try them.
Within a few days of taking the herbs, I had
noticeably more energy. My eyesight, which
was starting to blur, became strong again.
After a couple weeks my stomach bloating
stopped, and my digestion continued to
improve day by day. Within a few months my
dizzy spells subsided, and my allergies and
headaches cleared. Even my gallstones moved
on. I never expected all this. My menstrual
periods became pain-free, my night sweats
stopped. Month by month, symptoms I’d had
for years and accepted as part of the body
I’d been dealt, lightened up and
disappeared. Even my sugar cravings went
away!
I’ve been taking these herbs everyday now
for almost four years. I’ll go a day without
food, but not without my Amazon herbs.
What are some of
the most important and effective rainforest
herbs?
Una de Gato, also known as Cat’s Claw, is
recognized as one of the most important
botanicals in the rainforest for its
antioxidant properties and for its wide
range of health benefits. It is known to
maintain blood pressure in a healthy range
and stimulate the immune system. And it’s
appreciated for its ability to cleanse and
support the intestinal tract, support
cardiovascular health, and strengthen the
respiratory system.
Sangre de Drago, is one of the strongest
antioxidants known. Used both internally and
topically, it is incredible for skin and
tissue regeneration. Taken internally it is
anti-parasitic, anti-viral, and
anti-bacterial. It works fast to alleviate
sore throats and infected gums, and it’s the
best thing I’ve found for cuts, wounds,
stings, pimples, boils, and rashes. No Mom
or first-aid kit should be without it.
Graviola has a long recorded history of use
in herbal medicine. Its bark, leaves, roots,
fruit, and fruit seeds are all used for
different remedies. Much of the recent
research on Graviola has focused on the
phytochemicals that are cytotoxic against
various cancer cells. If that is of interest
to you, there is a wealth of information you
can find on the internet about Graviola, as
well as 40 years of published studies.
What herbs and
formulas are particularly effective for
women and why?
Sumacazon is a combination of botanicals
that are used to provide energy and stamina,
balance the endocrine system, strengthen the
immune system, restore nerve and glandular
functions, for infertility, for menopausal
and menstrual symptoms, for over-exhaustion,
and for stress. Sumacazon is also important
for strengthening and renewing muscle tone,
strengthening the nervous system, and for
boosting sexual energy.
Lunazon is an ancient formula that has been
used for ages to support women’s health. It
helps alleviate PMS symptoms such as low
energy, irritability and mood swings. Two of
the plants in this formula, Mulungu and
Passion Flower, are helpful to soothe the
mind and promote emotional balance.
Fiberzon Plus is especially helpful for
cleansing unwanted debris from the
intestinal tract and keeping your
elimination optimal. That means better
absorption of nutrients, less gas and
bloating, and a slimmer waistline.
As a side note, my twelve year-old daughter
was having irregular periods and heavy
bleeding. With Lunazon, Sumacazon, and
Fiberzon Plus the condition was corrected in
two months time. Added bonus - her teenage
‘attitude’ also left her, and so did her
acne. Now she’s added Warrior and Recovazon
to her daily protocol. Note: her memory to
take her herbs has improved dramatically.
Shipibo Tea is a nourishing blend of six
important rainforest plants to provide
overall health, energy, immune strength and
regeneration. I find this tea blend magical.
Sometimes my cup of Shipibo Tea is
energizing and stimulates creativity. Other
times this same tea is calming and relaxing.
Herbalists would explain it’s because these
herbs are adaptogenic. I like the word
magical.
Recovazon helps reduce inflammation,
increase flexibility and circulation.
Translated, that means Recovazon is
incredible for stiff or painful joints, sore
muscles, swelling, injuries, and pain. (You
don’t have to have all at the same time for
the formula to be effective!)
You have a really
unique (and delicious) product called
ChocaMaca. Please tell us what’s in it and
why it is so unique and healthy?
ChocaMaca is a delicious, organic chocolate
with mind stimulating herbs and strong
antioxidants. Inside these tasty bites is
Kiwicha, a seed similar to amaranth with
very high protein content. It was a staple
in the diets of the Incas who believed it
had supernatural powers. ChocaMaca also has
Maca, Camu Camu, Blue green algae, Catuaba
and Muira Puama. All these botanicals are
loaded with nutrients and are known to boost
physical and mental energy.
And you’ll be glad to know, ChocaMaca is
particularly effective for women - our
bodies often crave the magnesium found in
chocolate. Now you can indulge yourself
guilt-free in healthy chocolate that
supports rainforest preservation.
Are
the herbs considered organically grown?
These Amazonian herbs are ‘beyond organic’.
Here’s why. These rainforest botanicals are
growing wild, so that means they are the
strongest of their species. Second, they are
growing in virgin soil, in their natural
habitat, hundreds of miles from modern
pollutants and pesticides. And third, the
indigenous people have a great reverence for
life, and they believe it is the plant
spirit that gives the healing, not the plant
itself. Therefore, they ask permission from
the plant spirit before harvesting, and
request it to transfer its healing
properties to the receiver. They do this
through songs, called icaros.
In the rainforest, prayer and song is an
integral part of harvesting, preparing the
plant medicines, and receiving them. For
this, I believe we have a lot to learn from
our indigenous sisters and brothers.
Is there a danger
to the Amazon Rainforest by the growing
interest in rainforest herbs?
The danger is if people don’t come to know
about these rainforest herbs. Let me
explain.
The Amazon Rainforest is the largest, and
most intact of our planet’s tropical
rainforests. It is roughly the size of the
United States. Our vision is to utilize the
Amazon Rainforest as the Green Pharmacy of
the world. By sustainably harvesting this
medicinal treasure trove, our hope and
prayer is to stop the horrific destruction
of the Amazon Rainforest that is taking
place right now: for cattle ranching, for
hardwood and timber, for oil and gold
exploration.
Fortunately, the economics are on our side.
One acre of rainforest used for cattle will
pay about $60 to the owner in one year’s
time. Not much. For timber, the owner will
make about $400. Now listen to this: by
sustainably harvesting the forest’s wild
botanicals, that same acre is worth at least
$2400 to the owner, and is a renewable
resource. It will be worth that much year
after year after year.
So we want the word to get out in a big way.
When millions of people are taking Amazon
Herbs each day, we’ll be able to affect the
entire Amazon Basin, shifting the tide of
destruction to planetary healing and
balance. This is the practical, economic way
to halt Rainforest destruction and benefit
everyone in the process.
