The main ingredient
of Aquazon is the Blue-Green Algae Aphanizomenon
flos-aquae (AFA), which grows naturally in an
extraordinary lake in Southern Oregon. AGA was
shown to stimulate immune patrolling in the
body, more specifically the migration of natural
killer cells. Traditional immunology describes
natural killer cells as scavengers of virally
infected cells and cells undergoing
degeneration. In addition, AFA contains a
polysaccharide that stimulates the activity of
macrophages, the first line of defense of the
immune system. Similar polysaccharides have been
isolated from other types of algae, including
spirulina, but in much smaller quantity and with
a much lesser potency.
The most common experience reported by consumers
of AFA is an increase in mental clarity and
mental energy. Recently, phenylethylamine has
been identified as the active ingredient.
Phenylethylamine is well known in the scientific
literature to stimulate attention and
concentration, to elevate mood and provide
mental energy.
AFA contains phycocyanin – the blue pigment in
AFA – which was shown to inhibit the production
of inflammatory compounds in the body. Studies
suggest that AFA helps combat fatigue, promotes
the health of the respiratory system, and
refreshes the mind, enhancing concentration and
mood. Recent studies have shown that AFA
promotes regeneration and longevity.
Fucus, also called Kelp or Bladderwrack, has
been used for centuries in Europe for weight
